Comics Coast To Coast Review

Author: JadedDeath

Rating: 8.5 Out Of 10

Comics Coast to Coast (Or C3, as I'll now call it) is a podcast that covers all the going-ons in the webcomicosphere (Which is also what I'll now call it) It's hosted by Brian Dunaway, who makes the A Mission Deep comic, and is also a host of Extralife Radio, "Jousting" Justin Thompson, who makes the Myth Tickle Comic, and Tom Racine, who makes the Booksmarts comic. With the episodes so far, they've interview various web cartoonists, such as Stephan Pastis and Scott Johnson (also a host of Extralife Radio). Although I'm not what might be considered a huge webcomic fan, I found this podcast really enjoyable and entertaining, and I recommend it to any fans of the hosts' work, or webcomics in general.

Popcap Games Review

PopCap GamesAuthor: JadedDeath

Rating: 8.5 Out Of 10

PopCap is an online game producer, who's games all seem to have some addictive quality to them. Well-known games such as Bejeweled and Zuma, to lesser known titles such as Atomica and Bookworm. Besides the online games, demos for other games are also available, unfortunately, they all last for only one hour. All the demos also have purchasable full versions of the game, all of which cost $20. All in all, a well rounded game producer that has something for the free-online-game type of player, and people who look to buy online games as well. Linked above.

Quiz Farm Review

Quiz Farm
Author: Irydium
Rating: 8.5 out of 10

Quiz Farm is a site with many funny, weird, and even romantic, quizzes. The site is a great idea, having quizzes made by viewers and fans of the site. The site display, however, needs much work, and has hardly met it's capacity. The site is rather dull, and sometimes makes it hard to find what your looking. The quizzes however are very nice being made by the viewers of the site (some quizzes even have pics!). The site is overall pretty nice and some quizzes are quite funny. So Quiz Farm is a great site to go to when you're bored, want to find out something about yourself or find out what Lord of the Rings character you are. Anyway you can find many quizzes on quiz farm, but try not to be confused by the dull and strange setup. Visit the site in the above link.

Onslaught Review

I normally don't review things like online games, but this one has seemed to spark a lot of attention recently. This game is a basic Tower Defence-type of game, where a group of enemies is trying to attack your base, and you must strategically place your towers to destroy them. While there are many games like this, this one definitely one of the best, because of the diversity of the game if you actually read some of the instructions. Different towers, when built close to one another, will work together as one weapons. For example, Blue + Blue Towers will launch Land Mines at the enemies, while Blue + Blue + Red towers will launch nuclear missiles. Overall - considering the depth and the fact that its free - it's a great game, and should not be judged to quickly by the simplistic look. Give it a try at the link above!

The Instance Review

Rating: 9 Out Of 10

Just a quick note; this is a podcast for players of World Of Warcraft. If you don't play it, this podcast probably won't make much sense to you.

Moving on.

The Instance is "The Podcast For Lovers of World of Warcraft", and personally one that I look forwards to every week. It's updated every Sunday night, and is something to look forward to every Monday morning. The cast covers all the levels of the World Of Warcraft Universe. Scott covers lower level things, and most of the community material, Andrew covers a lot of the Blizzard news and updates, and Randy always finds some rumors in the World of Warcraft. It's, all in all, a well balanced group and are often hilarious in each podcast. I highly recommend it for any fan of World of Warcraft.

Podcast Announcement

If I can, I might get a Podcast up soon, it would basically be me reading the reviews, and letting everyone download them from the site, or from iTunes. If I can get my headset to work, I'll try and record some stuff soon and put it up.

DragonForce Review

Author: JadedDeath
Rating 8.5 Out Of 10

DragonForce is a band that deserves much more popularity then it is credited for. They are a Metal Band that separates itself from the stereotypical metal band, with original, well thought out lyrics, and insanely fast guitar solos. If you listen closely to the lyrics in a majority of the songs, you will find the hidden genius in the lyrics, which is just new and original in every possible way. The only real flaw in the band is the subtle similarities in some of the songs, but overall, it is worth your time. Click on the image above to go to their website, and preview one of their songs.

Send In Your Reviews!

I have a couple new reviews I've been needing to put up, but in the meantime, it would be interesting to see a couple readers send in their ideas by clicking on the feedback link on the right side of the blog. If I find it of high quality, I will put it up on the site and credit you for it, and, if you prefer, I will also put your e-mail there as well so readers can give you your own feedback. Good luck!

Addicting Games Review

Author: JadedDeath
Rating: 7.5 Out Of 10

Addicting Games has been a long running website, and has a huge database of links to free online games, and is updated weekly with up to 12 games. The sheer massiveness of the game database, as well as the quality of the games, is quite an accomplishment. Unfortunatly, the website layout, although not horrible, leaves much to be desired. It is simplistic, but is capable of much more. With the huge amount of games, you can spend plenty of time sifting through all the games there, with whatever free time you may have.

Teagames Review

Author: JadedDeath
Rating: 8 Out of 10

Teagames is a game producer/hosting site, with plenty of games. The main draw in this site, I find, is the realism in physics (to some extent) on a majority of the games. For example, the BMX series, in my opinion, has realistic physics, and quality graphics for a free web game. And there are plenty of other games to be played on the site, all of which are of great quality, and just generally fun. The website layout is also very well done; it is original, and professional. Whether you have 5 minutes or an hour of free time, I suggest you check out Teagames, it will be time well spent.

Extralife Review

ExtraLife
Author: JadedDeath
Rating: 9.5 Out of 10

Extralife is a website that covers so many different topics, it would take too long to list them. The site often has news on the homepage about video games, movies, TV, and comics. Along with listing news, the owner of the site, Scott Johnson, also provides the extralife comic, which is updated 3 times a week, with humor about most geek topics. The style the comic is drawn in is original, artistic and enjoyable.

In my opinion, the main draw is the weekly podcast; Extralife Radio (ELR). You can subscribe to it here. It can also be downloaded in MP3 format from the main page. The show cast consists of Scott Johnson, owner of Extralife. Brian, comic artist for Mission Deep. And Obsidian (which is his artist name, I don't know how to spell his real name), comic artist for Commissioned. The show usually has a centralized topic, but there are also shows where the group just talks about upcoming news and offers their opinions on them. The show is successful in many parts, such as delivering news, and offering multiple opinions, as well as the hilarious cast, who always seem to have a joke ready. The factor that was most surprising was the fact that the whole show is improvised, to some level. While the news and show notes are given to everyone, there is no concrete script, which makes the show feel more like a normal conversation instead of a scripted dialogue.

Overall, this site is filled with everything, no matter what you may be looking for, with the news, to the podcast, to the comic, to the plenty of other hidden things in the site. I highly recommend you check it out.

First Post!

After way too much work, i've finally gotten the blog up! Hopefully it'll be worth the effort.

So, the whole point of this site is, basically, me reviewing other websites. I'm hoping if i get enough readers, other people can send in their own reviews, and all that stuff. Any suggestions should be sent in the form of an e-mail to matermine@gmail.com.

Okay, so, first things first; I'm working on getting a domain for the blog, so www.30secondreviews.com will point here, instead of my old site. Second, i'm gonna try and get a few people to help out with reviews, html work, etc.

I'm hoping to get my first review of Myextralife.com done today, keep checking back!
